Family and Children

I enjoy family and children photography.  With families I strive to capture the true essence of who your family is.  I like to start with traditional shots (looking and smiling at the camera) and then mix in more traditional poses throughout your session; but I also really love the non traditional shots….the ones I take when no one realizes the camera is on them.  I want to capture the true you, the connection between your family, between siblings, between parent and child, between mom and dad.  I want to tell your story in a way that visually bookmarks where your family is at this chapter of your life; to freeze time for just a moment so you will have these memories captured for a life time. My goal is to provide you with portraits that you and your family will love and cherish for a lifetime. I want the experience that you have with me to get those portraits to be fun and stress free. I know how hard it is to be on your side, getting my own photos done (alone and as a family of 5). It’s hard not to worry about how you look, and especially hard if you have kids that are acting up! Just trust me, I will make sure we get beautiful images, no matter what. I offer a satisfaction guarantee – if something goes terribly wrong, we will absolutely do a reshoot!

Senior Portraits

Our high school senior portrait sessions are totally one of a kind! You will receive beautiful, timeless pictures of this once in a lifetime experience. Getting your senior pictures will be fun, exciting and make you feel special. Our sessions can include your make-up, help with outfits and any props of your choosing! If you have any favorite hobbies or sports we will include that too. 
When you book a senior portrait session, you will also receive a nice handy list of tips and ideas to make these pictures your own. 

Maternity and Newborn

Nothing is better than a new bundle of joy. Whether it is photographing those belly bumps, or once your newborn is here. Maternity shoots generally happen around the seven or eight month mark. When you have a beautiful bump, but you are also not super close to your due date. You can book a maternity session and a newborn session all in one.
I love everything about brand new babies, especially the feelings of sheer excitement, joy and elation that build during the session and multiply when I sit down to process the images once the session is complete.  I vividly remember the awesome feeling of having my little-ones photographed in their first few days and relish the opportunity to capture your newborn’s new-ness.  My goal with newborns is to create soft, beautiful, natural images of your newest addition. Alone, as well as with any siblings and of course you parents.  I love to use neutrals and natural elements in my newborn photography.  My desire is to highlight the absolute perfection of your newborn and not distract from them.
Ultimately, my photography will capture your belly, your baby and/or family in the uniqueness that is you/them!  I view each photograph as a work of art.

I have learned from the previous newborns I have photographed, that to capture those brand new, curly, sleepy poses it is best for both the lifestyle and posed newborn sessions to take place within the first 10-14 days after birth.  These sessions are often scheduled with me when mom is in her 2nd trimester of pregnancy.  Of course baby will come in his or her own time but it helps to ensure my availability around your due date if I have it penciled in my books.  

Lifestyles

I am a fly on the wall. I watch. I observe and I capture the beauty of your every day moments. Nothing formal and these sessions are very low key. 
Before our session we chat about what you love to do as a family...traditions or rituals and choose something perfect... Making breakfast on Saturday morning. Baking Cookies. Playing football. Bath and books time. Going for ice cream.  Getting ready for school. Game Night. Running through the sprinklers. Play time at the park. Snuggles on the couch. You name it. Just your family, being your family... I follow the action and I document the beauty of the blessings that surround you every day. Simple. The stuff you don't ever want to forget. Everyday blessings. My favorite kind. Together we choose a location..either at your home or one of the many places I love to shoot at. We stay away from formal posing with everyone looking at the camera and we get you guys in motion and having fun! I work hard to capture the genuine interaction and smiles. The good stuff.

These sessions more focused around a specific activity and captured in a 100% photo journalistic style.

This is all about capturing your family at this incredible time in your life..wherever that is. If you are welcoming a newborn or surrounded by toddlers or teenagers. As the most popular type of session, this is all about capturing the interaction - those quite and loud moments and the fun.

Package includes initial consultation, on-location photo session and a flash drive or digital gallery of all high resolution images. For you to keep forever! Prints and products are also available.

Wedding

My priority is to keep you on schedule, give light direction, and take beautiful photos. I work efficiently to take all of the carefully composed images, and get you back to the party as soon as possible so I can capture the story-telling moments. I strive to retell your story in the most beautiful way that is true to you.
