Welcome! My name is Jamie and I am the owner and head photographer with J Lee Lynn Photography.

I believe that life should be celebrated. As a parent, hidden underneath the long nights, truly are short weeks and even shorter years. Buried underneath a total house explosion, pull-your-hair-out frustration and wandering thoughts of why wine bottles are not sold with straws...are moments that take your breath away. 

I seek moments that make you feel something and help you remember. I guess it is because, as a parent, I fear I will forget. Not the big moments, but the small ones... and the moments in between. How my daughter, with her uncombed hair, dresses herself like she has been lost in the woods for weeks or how my oldest son's first love, just may have been his toes. Or my personal favorite how my younger son’s favorite word is no. 

It is daunting to me to know that a moment is here and then it is gone forever. I think it is somewhere in the many layers of that thought where my photography has its roots - wanting to freeze time for a moment longer.... so you can always remember how tiny your newborn is, your three year olds giggle-smile or those precious days before your teenager heads out the door in pursuit of their dreams. All that jump up and down, DANG I am blessed , good stuff in life. 

I am not interested in capturing the perfect, formal portrait. I want to capture the not so perfect - the stuff that makes your heart skip a beat. It is my hope to capture this time in your life and your family ... well, just being your family... and confidently knowing that is more than enough. 

This parenting thing is not for the faint of heart, but it is a pretty spectacular journey - right? Let's celebrate it! 

Who are you? What is your family like?  What is your story?  Each and every one of us is different.  Our lives are filled with lots of wondrous things that should not go unnoticed or taken for granted.  I do not simply take your picture.  I capture a bit of your life so that you have a keepsake to remember those wondrous things . . . the way your child’s hands fits in yours, the way your beloved shows what is in his heart with the way he looks at you, the little freckles that are sprinkled across your little girl’s nose.

If you are looking for a traditional studio portrait, I am not the photographer for you.  My philosophy is to “keep it real”  and my style is such that I work to capture a combination of organically posed images and candid moments for each session gallery.  During sessions, I talk to my clients a lot, engaging them  and their children so as to get those natural expressions and moments.

I know family portraits can be stressful.  My portrait sessions are laid-back and I aim to make it an enjoyable experience. My goal with every session is to capture images that highlight the beauty and personality of you and your loved ones. 

To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.

My goal is to give you the best pictures possible with the most fun possible. I don't really look at you as just another client; I will get to know you and treat you as a friend, and by the end of the day that's what we've become. my photo shoots are very laid back and casual. I find that if you plan things out too much and take everything too seriously, the quality of the images diminish. the random and sponateousness of the world are usually what ends up giving you the best more memorable moments, that matter most, that goes for pictures as well. Candid unplanned shots end up being the best, there not staged or posed. there you, or your loved one, in true essence. 
I’m hoping to capture the essence of what makes you, you. My hope is that through my work you will not only see, but will feel. This is my art, my expression. This is only possible by you, and the beauty and madness within this world. 

Portrait sessions are photographed exclusively on location.  I let my clients inspire me and I use my creativity to make LIFE ART that they can be proud to hang on the wall, treasure now and forever, and pass on to future generations.
